Safety
Begin and end safe onsite.

Safety is an AMECO core value. Rooted in an industry-leading safety culture, we create a safety-focused environment to help our teams plan and execute work safely. We “Begin and End Safe Onsite,” no matter the site type — on a project, in the office, and at home. An intentional focus on safety every day allows AMECO employees to leave work in the same or better condition than when they arrived.

Creating this safe environment is an ongoing process that requires being safety conscious at all times, identifying and eliminating hazards, and knowing what to do in the event of an emergency.

At AMECO, we pride ourselves in our world-class commitment to health, safety, and the environment (HSE). HSE practices and procedures are in place so that everyone understands their role in accomplishing the work safely and maintaining a safe work environment.

There are four key ways AMECO employees are kept safe onsite:
  • Each meeting begins with a safety topic. This simple habit keeps safety at the forefront for all team members, including clients and other visitors.
  • A Job Safety Analysis (JSA) is a comprehensive process that identifies hazards associated with each step of a job and develops solutions for each hazard that will either eliminate or control the hazard. The process involves subject matter experts and personnel beyond the front-line supervisor. The process occurs before the task goes to the field.
  • A Safety Task Assignment (STA) is the process of identifying and communicating to each employee the steps, hazards, and risks associated with a task, and the safe work practices that are to be applied to complete the task.
  • Every employee is empowered with Stop Work Authority. Stop work authority is the right of every employee to stop work and notify a supervisor when a hazardous condition or behavior exists. That right extends to when a team member is uncertain of procedures, is distracted, or is uncomfortable with the task.

In addition to working hard to achieve world-class safety performance, we celebrate our successes. In October 2021, AMECO reached a milestone of 1 million safe work hours company-wide.

As members of the National Safety Council, we painstakingly emphasize a safety culture, and our employees foster best practices while also anticipating potential problems.

Not only are we safe, we enhance the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) programs and work environments of our clients by providing:
