AMECO’s employees in Chile are dedicated to improving their local communities, both in Santiago and La Negra as well as across our project site locations. The AMECO team at a mine site in Coquimbo holds annual Christmas activities for the local village, and employees across the country participate in giving opportunities, such as toy and food drives. In 2013, employees at the Santiago office built a playground for a local school.
AMECO supports clients across Chile in the mining, infrastructure, industrial, and power industries by providing a comprehensive service offering designed to provide a complete solution for both construction projects and ongoing operations. Our goal is to support project operations while enabling clients to optimize their resources and focus on their business.
AMECO’s primary service offering in Chile includes the following:
- Construction Site Services: Designed to meet construction site needs from the earliest stages of project development, AMECO can provide mobile equipment, site planning, equipment, maintenance, and supplies to a variety of construction projects. In addition, we provide a single point of contact for all site needs, enabling our clients to focus on their projects instead of having to manage on-site services.
- Operations Support Services: Designed to streamline operations by optimizing equipment and vehicle fleets on site, AMECO’s mining fleet services offering includes equipment provision, management, maintenance, and operation, and this offering can be customized to suit the client’s needs. Equipment includes mining trucks, heavy lift cranes, earth moving equipment, dump trucks, excavators, dozers, light towers, boom trucks, generators, and air compressors.
- Mining Support Services: Designed to provide mine owners with a single point of contact for support services across the different areas of the mine, AMECO’s mining support services offering helps mine owners and operators optimize resources and generate more efficient processes. This offering includes provision of integrated equipment solutions to manage, maintain, and operate auxiliary fleets and specialty mining equipment during mine construction or daily operations as well as material hauling services.
Our process provides a single point of contact, transparent reporting, industry-leading safety programs and best-in-class equipment availability. By integrating our service offering, understanding the full scope of project demands, and leveraging the best people, proven processes, and innovative technology, AMECO can optimize assets and help clients reduce total operating costs.
In 1994, AMECO expanded into Chile to support mining and construction projects in the country. Over the years, our mining experience grew, and in 1998 we acquired a contract to provide fleet operation and management at Minera Escondida.
In 2004, AMECO opened an operations center in La Negra to better support Minera Escondida and other clients in the Chilean mining industry. The facility supports operations in northern Chile by providing equipment, maintenance, and logistics services. Later in 2006, an office branch was opened in Copiapó in order to support projects in the region of Atacama.
